Sonderausstellung
im Historisch-Technischen Museum Peenemünde28. Januar 2016 – 15. November 2016
Neue Werke der Künstler Gregorio Iglesias Mayo und Miguel A. Aragón sind in der Ausstellung „Wunder mit Kalkül“ des Historisch-Technischen Museums Peenemünde zu sehen. Das HTM und das Till Richter Museum kooperieren seit 2015, um diesen zwei bedeutenden Künstlern zu erlauben, die historische, kulturelle und menschliche Ebene dieses geschichtsträchtigen Ortes künstlerisch umzusetzen.
Das Gesamtprojekt „Imprinting History“ wird seit dem Frühjahr 2016 in beiden Museen ausgestellt. In der jetzigen Sonderausstellung (seit 28. Januar 2016) sind ebenfalls Werke beider Künstler enthalten. „Wunder mit Kalkül“ erklärt und illustriert die oben genannten Ebenen mit Zeitdokumenten, Fotos, Karten und sogar Raketenteilen. Dabei wird klar, dass sich die Werke von Iglesias Mayo und Aragón einerseits stark an diese Geschichte anlehnen, sie andererseits aber transzendieren.
New works by artists Gregorio Iglesias Mayo and Miguel A. Aragón will be on view in the special exhibit Calculated Wonders at the Historical-Technical Museum, Peenemünde. The HTM and the Till Richter Museum have been cooperating since 2015 to allow these two significant artists to translate the historical, cultural and human aspects of this particularly important site into art.
The entire project carries the title Imprinting History and will is exhibited since may 2016 in both institutions. The current special exhibit started January 28th also features works that have been made as part of this cooperation by both artists. Calculated Wonders explains and illustrates with documents, photos, maps and even rocket parts the above-mentioned aspects. It is then easily evident how the art works are on one hand informed by that history and leaning on it and how, on the other hand, they transcend history.
